“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.”
1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Our Parish offers many different opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, share our faith with others, and enhance our community.
Altar Society
The Altar Society is a women’s auxiliary organization of the parish. They are actively involved in fundraising for the church and school, as well as handling events such as funeral dinners. NOTE: All ladies of the parish are automatically members of the Altar Society. If anyone is not listed in the book, PLEASE contact one of the officers and we will correct the error. The Altar Society of our parish is what we as individuals make it. Let us be “ONE IN SPIRIT AND ONE IN COMMON WORKS.” Let us reach out toward uniting our endeavors and moral power to Catholic and Christian Women throughout the country. Our goal is “Reconstruction of a Christian Society in our Nation.”
Altar Society meets on every first Wednesday of the month from September through May.
——————————–
On behalf of the Altar Society, we are asking all women of the Parish to consider assisting with funeral dinners as workers and waiters. As many of you know, we have lost several true pillars of our church this year. Many other of our long-time willing workers are getting up in the years, making it difficult for them to stand on the concrete floors for longer periods of time. We are asking each woman to consider how they can assist with this truly Christian mission by using a lunch hour, or a couple of hours off work to assist. If you can sign up to help with this endeavor, we will each only be needed occasionally.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful consideration.

Knights of Columbus
Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
Knights of Columbus meets on the third Wednesday of every month except July.
